The staff and friends of Holy Family School Charleville wish to extend a huge congratulations and Thank You to Holy Family School Parents Association in association with Charleville Heritage Society who organised a massive Fashion Event on Monday September 19th in Charleville Park Hotel.
The whole event was a wonderful from start to finish models from the Ursula Stokes Model Agency as well as participation from pupils of the Holy Family School. The evening was kicked off with a champagne and cheese reception and compered by RTE Personality, Miriam O'Callaghan. Not only was the event a huge success from a fundraising point of view, it was an extremely entertaining and enjoyable night for all of those fortunate enough to attend. Well Done to one and all. Liskennett Farm
We are very fortunate in Holy Family School to have daily access to the fabulous Service at Liskennett, Granagh. This wonderful farm provides day and residential service for adults and children who use the services of St. Josephs Foundation.
Each school day, one class from Holy Family School attends the farm where they engage in a range of activities which are both educational and therapeutic in nature, from sensory walks to horse riding, to care of the animals and general health and safety practices. Below are a number of slideshows documenting classes experiences of the service. |

Struggling with toilet training?? Don't worry, you are not alone!
Here in school we are always willing to provide help and support to provide and support toilet training programmes for your child. Please bring any concerns you have to your child's class teacher who will be able to provide a further insight to your child's specific needs but in the meantime here are some tips that may help you along the way.
1. Make toilet time a fun time. Allow your child the chance to engage with some preferred activity during toilet time for example - sing to them/play music, read a story, or any appropriate alternative that will encourage your child to sit and wait.
2. Be consistent!! Use a timer an alarm or any method you may have to remind both you and your child 'it's time to go'. if possible ensure that these toilet times are the same every day as you try to establish a pattern or routine that is suitable for your child.
3. Keep Records. - keeping records between home and school will provide a baseline from which we can assess a child's progress as regards toilet training. It will allow you to figure out times of the day that your child is more than likely going to need to use the toilet and and that way reduce the incidents of toileting accidents. A copy of the toileting record sheets can be downloaded from the attachment below as well as some Visual Supports to help with the programme.
